Katie is upset with her parents for making her move to California in the middle of her junior year of high school, but when the gorgeous and rich Trevor Brown invites her to go water skiing, everything changes.
Life would be perfect if only her parents weren't so controlling and the head cheerleader wasn't out to ruin Katie's life. When Katie and her new friends make some bad choices, lives will be changed forever.
Two weeks at a fancy summer camp surrounded by cute boys… and one thing could make it even better – Katie's best friend, Kara, is going with her!
Her camp experience is going just as she dreamed it would, until she tangles with a vindictive camp counselor and then finds out that one of her new friends is just using her. And if that isn’t bad enough, a kidnapper moves in just down the road and sets his sights on Katie. How did two weeks of sun and boys turn into a struggle for her life?
Is it possible for Katie to have too many boys in her life?
She would never have thought it possible until the drop-dead gorgeous Caleb Dirkson walks into her lifeguard training class. When he starts to show interest in her, her life gets very complicated.
Then, when jealousy and insecurity come head-to head, she is forced to choose between the newcomer and her old friends. Will Katie make the right choice?
What could be better than having a gorgeous and nearly perfect boyfriend?
Maybe if that nearly perfect boyfriend wasn’t away at college! And since Katie's boyfriend is away, the handsome star quarterback at her school sets his sights on winning Katie's affections and becomes a temptation that she tries really hard to resist…
Will Katie succeed? Or will Trevor win her heart once and for all?
Katie finally has her life on the track she wants. School is going well, she has lots of friends, and her relationship with Trevor, the star football player, is definitely moving in the right direction… maybe toward dating? Even the head cheerleader who hates Katie is now more annoying than intimidating.
Life’s good, until an incredibly rich and famous band member walks into her life and totally rocks her carefully built world.
Katie and Kara are together again as they tackle the ski slopes just outside of Salt Lake City with the rest of the Glendora High Ski Club.
An incredible snowboarder grabs the girls’ attention as he executes his death-defying stunts in the halfpipe. In a mysterious turn of events, he rides the lift chair up with Katie and her mind is blown when he not only knows her name, but knows everything about her. When he gives her an ominous warning, she finds herself skiing for her life.
An Olympic gold medalist has fallen head-over-heels for Katie, and his charming personality along with his athletic good looks have won her over as well.
But when he leaves the country for over a month to compete in the Olympics, Glendora’s star football player and one of Katie’s best friends decides to use that time, and his family’s huge lake house to capture Katie’s affection. How will she decide between two guys that every girl in America would dream about?
Why can't Katie stay out of trouble? It's not like she makes stupid decisions. Well, maybe a few here and there, but for the most part, she totally uses good judgement. So, when strange and a little scary things start to happen - they are fairly easy to ignore, because her mind is on prom, and it will be the best night of her life. She has no idea in her perfect world, that her life is in imminent danger.
When I was in the third grade, I had an assignment to write a story for Halloween. I enjoyed it so much that I asked Mrs. Midkiff if I could take my story home over the weekend so I could keep writing. From her expression, I think that I was the first student to ever ask her to do additional school work over the weekend. She not only allowed me to continue my story, she encouraged me to keep writing.
I always enjoyed writing, but it wasn't until my first daughter was born that I took an active interest in it. One day when I was at the library, out of curiosity, I picked up a book in the young adult section that was being promoted on the display case. In the first chapter, four letter words were used more times than in the flying scene in Top Gun. In addition to the language, the main character was raped by her uncle and several other very dark and disturbing things happened.
Teenagers already struggle with so many issues and dark thoughts, I felt sad that they were also filling their minds with this dark stuff for 'pleasure' and that books like this were being promoted by our libraries. That lit a fire within me to write the Glendora High Series - a series of books about the temptations and struggles that most teenagers experience, but from a happier and more traditional viewpoint.
I love talking to teenagers about my life experiences and encouraging them during this difficult stage in life. I believe with my whole heart that my joy and peace come from my relationship with Jesus Christ and I love to share my Christian journey with others. But, if that doesn't fit your group, I can just share my writing experiences and other fun and funny stories that have happened in my life - some that I have written into these books.
If you have a book club, youth group or other event where you would like me to speak, please reach out to me through the Flashesofun contact form. I would love to meet you.
